

Peter Wilson serves as a consultant solicitor with Cheney Suthers, having embarked on his journey with the firm as a partner in 1986. Over the years, Peter has cultivated a robust litigation practice that spans a spectrum of areas, including commercial, succession, and employment disputes, as well as personal injury and professional negligence. His academic credentials are substantial; he is an alumnus of Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School and holds degrees in economics and laws from the Australian National University. Further, he has acquired a diploma in financial management from the University of New England. Admitted as a solicitor in 1977, Peter harbours a keen interest in farm succession, business, and taxation law. Outside of his legal practice, Peter is deeply rooted in agriculture, producing wheat, wool, lamb, and beef on his family’s farms in Trangie, a venture he manages alongside his wife, son, and daughter-in-law. His extensive involvement in the agricultural sector is further highlighted by his roles with the New South Wales Farmers Association. He has held prestigious positions such as Board member and Treasurer, Chair of the Business Economics and Trade Committee, and representative on the National Farmers Federation Trade Committee. Additionally, he has contributed significantly as a member of the Corporate Governance Committee and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. Currently, he is an active member of the Association’s Constitutional Review Taskforce.
