Kate Escobar

Kate Escobar is a Director at our firm, bringing over 25 years of legal experience with a primary focus on family law. She has been recognised as an Accredited Specialist in Family Law by the New South Wales Law Society’s Specialist Accreditation Board since 1996. Kate’s career has been defined by her dedication to advocating for the rights and needs of her clients, including partners, parents, and children. She has extensive experience representing Independent Children’s Lawyers (ICLs) in the Family Court, dealing with complex parenting disputes such as national and international relocation, as well as sensitive issues involving allegations of abuse, mental health, and substance misuse. Kate graduated from the University of Sydney in 1985 with a combined Arts/Law degree, having first developed her skills in argumentation and advocacy through studies in philosophy and government. Her early commitment to challenging authority in pursuit of the right outcome has matured into a measured yet assertive approach in legal practice. In addition to her family law expertise, Kate has handled complex property settlements relating to business valuations, inheritances, and child support matters. Understanding that separation often marks a client’s first interaction with the legal system, she prioritises clear communication and a thorough understanding of the legal process to guide clients with confidence and care. Whether negotiating a settlement or advocating in court, Kate is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcome for her clients, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights protected throughout every stage of the process.
