Celia Chan

Celia Chan is a senior solicitor with extensive litigation experience across a broad range of legal areas including family law, employment law, criminal law, and commercial law. Her diverse background equips her to provide nuanced advice on matters involving interrelated legal issues. Admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia, Celia frequently appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, managing both family and financial proceedings. She also has considerable experience with bankruptcy matters in the Federal Court of Australia. At the state level, Celia regularly appears before the Supreme Court of Victoria’s commercial list, where she addresses complex issues related to Corporations and solvency. Her expertise extends to civil litigation, contractual disputes, and criminal hearings for both indictable and summary offences at the Magistrates’ Court. Prior to her current role, Celia worked at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) within the office of compliance and deterrence. There, she was involved in prosecuting directors for breaches of their director duties and investigating potential illegal phoenix activity. This experience has given her in-depth knowledge of the Corporations Act and Corporations Regulations.
