Crystal Ray serves as a Special Counsel at Construct Law Group Pty Ltd, drawing upon her extensive experience in building and construction law since 2007. She offers comprehensive dispute resolution and transactional advice to a diverse clientele, including subcontractors, government bodies, principals, contractors, and homeowners. Her expertise in construction litigation and contract negotiation is complemented by her proficiency in preparing and defending claims under the Security of Payment legislation in both Queensland and New South Wales. Crystal is adept at handling matters related to subcontractors’ charges, advising on licensing requirements, addressing defective works, and navigating the statutory insurance scheme as outlined in the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991. Crystal consistently guides her clients through all stages of their projects, from initial tender to completion and beyond. Her professional affiliations include past leadership roles with the Building Dispute Practitioners’ Society. Additionally, she was honoured as the Senior Associate of the Year at the SME Women in Law Awards in 2019. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Behavioural Science from Griffith University, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Queensland University of Technology.
