His legal journey began after earning a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from Monash University, followed by his admission as a lawyer in 1983. James has a diverse background in both business and law, having managed various enterprises since his late teens, including windsurfer hire, yacht charter, motor accident repairs, and his current venture in debt recovery. As the Managing Director of eCollect.com.au Pty Ltd, James has spent over two decades refining his expertise in debt recovery, serving clients across Australia with a steadfast commitment to securing their financial interests. His deep understanding of both the legal and practical aspects of business management is further complemented by his graduation from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. James is dedicated to giving back to the community, evident in his role as the founder of the Kajji Foundation, which supports young Indigenous Australians in their pursuits in Melbourne. Additionally, he serves as the honourary legal counsel for Squash and Racquetball Australia, blending his professional acumen with his passion for sports. Outside the office, James is an avid squash player and keeps fit through yoga and gym activities. He has a profound love for the outdoors, enjoying bushwalking and watersports, with a particular fondness for surfing and sailing classic wooden yachts. James, who is married with two sons and two grandchildren, has built a career marked by integrity and dedication, making him a respected figure in both the legal and business communities.
