
Chris Pouras has a rich background that spans both the financial services industry and the legal profession. Before embarking on his legal journey, Chris built a robust career in investment banking and stockbroking, complemented by his experience as a small business owner. Driven by a longstanding ambition to enter the legal field, he returned to academia in 2017, completing a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Adelaide in 2020. Chris further honed his legal expertise with a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, culminating in his admission as a solicitor and barrister in July 2021. This significant milestone also saw him become a Registered Practitioner of the High Court of Australia. Chris's legal career took a decisive turn when he joined Edge Law in January 2022, embracing the challenges of criminal law. His role involved acting as both solicitor and counsel, representing clients across various jurisdictions, including the Magistrates Court, District Court, and Supreme Court. His pursuit of excellence led him to the Director of Public Prosecutions (SA) in October 2024, where he enriched his skills, particularly in handling major indictable criminal matters. In September 2025, Chris returned to Edge Law, bringing with him a wealth of prosecutorial experience and a commitment to defending his clients' rights.
