Geraldine O’Connell

Geraldine O’Connell brings extensive experience to her role as Managing Solicitor and Director, having graduated from Melbourne University in 1978 with degrees in Law and Arts. Over a career spanning more than four decades, Geraldine has developed a strong foundation in family law, including matters related to family provision claims. Her qualifications include accreditation as a Collaborative Law Practitioner, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Registered Arbitrator, and Mediator, equipping her to manage complex family law disputes with a focus on resolution. Prior to relocating to East Gippsland in 2016, Geraldine led her own law firm in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs for 35 years. During this time, she gained broad legal experience across commercial law, common law, and equine law. Geraldine’s well-rounded expertise enables her to provide clients with practical and informed advice that reflects both legal rigor and a deep understanding of individual circumstances. In addition to her legal career, Geraldine has balanced family life, raising six children, and has actively participated in equestrian pursuits, theatre, and rowing, demonstrating a commitment to community engagement. Geraldine holds memberships with the Law Institute of Victoria, the Resolution Institute, and the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators, maintaining professional standards and staying current with developments in family law practice.
