Ramani Thotagamuwa

Ramani Thotagamuwa is the Principal Solicitor at Fairgo Legal Services, where she leads a dedicated team committed to providing comprehensive legal support with compassion and integrity. With a background that spans both practical legal work and academia, Ramani applies a thorough and client-centred approach to every case she handles. Ramani began her legal career in Sri Lanka, earning a Bachelor of Law with honours from the University of Colombo and being admitted as an Attorney-at-Law in 2000. Early in her career, she focused on human rights, notably serving as Director of the National Victims of Crime Centre, where she played a key role in advancing legal reforms to support victims of crime. This experience laid the foundation for her enduring commitment to justice and advocacy. After relocating to Australia, Ramani furthered her education by completing a Master of Accounting at CQUniversity and pursuing an academic career at Deakin University’s School of Business and Law. She was admitted as a solicitor in Victoria in 2019, having satisfied the necessary requirements for foreign practitioners. Since then, Ramani has practised in areas including migration law, family law, conveyancing and property law, as well as commercial law. To maintain a high level of expertise and provide the most current legal advice to her clients, she recently completed a Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of Melbourne.
