Paul Reese is the Founder and Executive Director of Finance Law, where he leverages his extensive experience in both legal practice and the private lending sector. His deep understanding of lending transactions, security structuring, and risk management positions him as a leading advisor to private lenders, credit managers, and investor groups. Paul specialises in secured lending transactions, complex workouts, distressed debt matters, and recovery strategies, offering advice that is both commercial and focused on safeguarding the lender’s interests from the outset. As the Executive Director, Paul is instrumental in defining the strategic direction of Finance Law, maintaining key client relationships, and engaging in major transactions. He is recognised for his clear commercial judgment and profound insight into the private credit market, assisting clients in deploying capital confidently and managing risk effectively. In addition to his role at Finance Law, Paul leads Summer Lawyers, a specialist banking and finance law firm, where he has been at the helm since 2011. His focus includes complex loan transactions, recoveries, enforcement strategies, and finance-related litigation. His leadership ensures comprehensive oversight, guiding the team through the intricacies of risk assessment, structure, and execution. Paul also co-founded Blasta Mhor Highland Cattle, further broadening his entrepreneurial portfolio. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from Western Sydney University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology from the University of Sydney, underpinning his robust analytical skills and strategic mindset. Known for his lender-side focus, Paul remains an influential figure in the development and execution of strategic finance and legal solutions.
