Tom Nevin

Tom Nevin is an accomplished Special Counsel with a distinguished career in litigation. Having qualified in Queensland in 2008, he has since gained extensive experience across leading Australian national and top-tier firms. His expertise further extended internationally when he qualified in England and Wales in 2019, working with UK and international firms on complex multi-million GBP and USD High Court claims, international arbitrations, insolvencies, and restructurings. Tom’s diverse background also includes numerous in-house roles and secondments with several international companies, enriching his understanding of commercial solutions. His strategic mindset is instrumental in devising effective solutions for disputes, employment, corporate, and M&A matters. His professional journey includes significant roles such as Senior Legal Counsel and Director at notable companies, bringing a wealth of knowledge to his current position at Gibson MacNeill Lawyers. As a member of the Queensland Law Society, Tom holds a dual qualification with admissions in the Supreme Court of Queensland, the High Court of Australia, and England and Wales. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland, complemented by a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Outside the office, Tom enjoys fishing and training in Jiu Jitsu, bringing balance to his professional accomplishments.
