Sonya Beyers is the Founding Director who seamlessly transitioned from a corporate law career to focus on governance, merging her legal expertise with a strong dedication to enhancing leadership capabilities at the board level. As a seasoned board advisor, she delivers tailored governance advisory and education services that meet each client’s unique needs. Sonya's strategic and solutions-oriented approach supports boards in strengthening governance frameworks and clarifying legal obligations. Her qualifications as a solicitor enable her to address complex constitutional and legal issues effectively. She collaborates with a diverse range of organisations, including government-owned corporations, statutory bodies, professional associations, public companies, charities, and private enterprises. Sonya is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Governance Institute of Australia, holds the INSEAD International Directors Programme Certification, and is a member of the Queensland Law Society. Her leadership roles include chairing Southern Cross Care (Tas) Inc., the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia, and the Queensland Law Society Not-for-Profit Committee. Additionally, she contributes as a Non-Executive Director on the boards of IES College and Australian Affordable Housing Securities Ltd, highlighting her commitment to effective governance and strategic leadership across various sectors.
