Allan Grant

Allan Grant, a Partner at Grant & Simpson, has been a dedicated member of the legal field for over four decades. Beginning his legal journey with his Articles of Clerkship in 1980, Allan completed his Bachelor of Laws at QUT and was admitted as a Lawyer in 1986. His commitment to continuous professional development has been unwavering throughout his career. Joining the family tradition, Allan became a Partner in 1989 and was appointed a Notary Public in 2008. His extensive experience covers a broad spectrum of litigation, civil, family, and criminal law. He has developed particular expertise in handling Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal matters, providing advice and representation in building disputes, discrimination law, and guardianship applications. Allan is well-versed in employment law, tackling employment contracts, unfair dismissal claims, and workplace health and safety issues. In commercial litigation, he addresses cases related to the Fair Trading Act (QLD) and the Competition and Consumer Act (CTH), earning recognition as a Panel Lawyer for various esteemed organisations. Predominantly focusing on disputed matters in the family and civil courts, Allan also commands significant experience in criminal law, representing clients across a wide range of matters, from minor traffic offences to serious crimes carrying life imprisonment penalties before the Supreme Court. Allan's contributions extend beyond the legal practice with active involvement in community activities. He has served as Chairman of the Rockhampton Touch Football Judiciary, Honorary Lawyer for 4YOU radio station, and has held key positions in multiple community organisations, including Bluecare and Leichhardt Rowing Club. His leadership roles also include Chairperson of the CQ University Misconduct Tribunal and Secretary of the Ananda Buddhist Centre.
