Gabrielle Hannaway

Gabrielle Hannaway holds a Masters of Law in Family Law and was admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister in 2015. She brings extensive experience across various areas of law, with a strong focus on family and criminal law. Gabrielle has appeared in numerous courts including the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Federal Circuit Court and Family Court. Notably, Gabrielle has been appointed as an Independent Children’s Lawyer, one of only five in Port Macquarie, reflecting her commitment to representing the best interests of children in legal proceedings. Her approach to legal matters is practical and resolution focused, underpinned by her advanced legal education. Gabrielle is dedicated to providing accurate advice and delivering pragmatic, high-quality litigation services tailored to her clients’ needs. In criminal law, Gabrielle has represented clients in a wide range of cases, from AVO matters and driving offences to serious charges such as assault, armed robbery, sexual assault and accessory to manslaughter. Within family law, Gabrielle has successfully secured orders including location and recovery orders, no contact orders, changes of residency between parents and sole parental responsibility orders. Gabrielle accepts a limited number of Legal Aid matters and considers applications on a case-by-case basis across various panels including Family Law, Summary and Indictable Crime, Children’s Crime, Domestic Violence, Civil Law, Care and Protection, and Mental Health.
