About Jo-Ann

Jo-Ann is a Queensland family lawyer with a practical, strategic and client-focused approach to resolving complex family law disputes. Growing up in Central Queensland, and later living in Malaysia for six years, Jo-Ann has strong personal connections across Queensland. She has also lived and worked in Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast, giving her a broad connection to both regional and metropolitan communities and an appreciation of the different circumstances facing families across the State. Jo-Ann practises primarily in family law and has experience across a broad range of parenting and property matters. She has particular experience in complex and high-conflict parenting disputes, including matters involving serious allegations, difficult family dynamics and complex evidence. She also has experience in international family law matters, including matters involving the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. Jo-Ann understands that family law disputes are rarely just legal problems. For many clients, they arise during some of the most difficult and uncertain periods of their lives. Her approach is to provide clear, realistic advice, identify the issues that genuinely matter and develop a strategy focused on achieving the best possible outcome. Known for her thorough preparation and strong advocacy, Jo-Ann regularly represents clients in mediations, conciliations and Court proceedings. She is committed to resolving disputes wherever possible without unnecessary litigation, while ensuring her clients are fully prepared to advocate for their interests when Court intervention is required. Jo-Ann is particularly passionate about advocacy and the careful analysis of evidence. She believes clients deserve more than simply being told what the law says — they deserve a lawyer who understands their case, tests the evidence, identifies its strengths and weaknesses, and is prepared to advocate strongly when it matters. Her clients value her approachable manner, straightforward advice and determination to achieve practical outcomes. Whether negotiating an agreement or preparing a matter for Court, Jo-Ann's focus is on ensuring her clients feel informed, supported and confidently represented throughout the process.
