John Boyd

John graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1978 with a Bachelor of Commerce and initially built his career in private industry before pursuing a law degree. He completed his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Sydney in 1988. From 1989 to 1992, John practised as a solicitor at Clayton Utz in Sydney, focusing on property law and insolvency. Following this, he spent around 18 months practising general law on the far north coast of New South Wales. In 1993, John returned to Sydney and joined Cameron Gillingham Boyd solicitors, where he practised general law until the end of 2008. Since settling in the lower Blue Mountains in 2001, John sought to work closer to home and established Boyd Lawyers in Penrith in 2009. In late 2016, Boyd Lawyers merged with Hinde & Ginges Solicitors, forming Hinde Ginges Boyd Lawyers, with offices in Penrith and Springwood. John sees clients by appointment at both locations. With over 25 years of experience in general legal practice, John’s work spans a broad range of areas, including Wills and Estates (covering contested Will litigation), commercial and civil litigation across Local, District and Supreme Courts, debt recovery, building law, family and defacto relationships law, property transactions for both residential and commercial clients, personal injury and insurance matters, as well as criminal and traffic law. His background in private industry combined with extensive legal experience equips him to provide practical and comprehensive legal advice.
