His journey in law began with a double degree from the University of Queensland, where he earned both a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce in 1992. Darren's initial years of practice saw him working in civil litigation at Williams Graham and Carman Solicitors in Cairns, where he began his professional career in December 1992 and was admitted as a solicitor in January 1995. His career path subsequently led him to Hervey Bay, taking a position at Milburn Guttridge in 1997, which set the stage for his eventual transition to a focus on family law. Joining Lewis and McNamara Solicitors in 2000, Darren soon became a partner and was instrumental in founding a dedicated family law division within the firm, driven by his growing interest and commitment to the field. In 2014, driven by a desire for lifestyle change, Darren relocated with his family to the scenic Byron Shire, where he established his own practice.
