

Oliver Jones is a distinguished partner at IP Partnership, bringing over 13 years of experience in commercial and business law. After graduating with honours from Bond University Law School and achieving the highest distinction in his Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Oliver began his legal practice on the Gold Coast. His academic journey also includes a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Dalhousie University, where he graduated with first class honours. Throughout his career, Oliver has appeared in all Queensland Courts and has successfully worked with a variety of businesses across Australia. His expertise spans start-ups and ecommerce, business and employer-sponsored migration, franchising, structuring, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property law, PPSA compliance, insolvency, and employment law. Oliver is renowned for his commitment to outstanding client outcomes and is appreciated for his straightforward and approachable manner. Before his legal career, Oliver refined his research skills as an assistant at Bond University’s Centre for Law, Governance, and Public Policy. He further honed his legal acumen during his tenure as a Senior Law Clerk at Affinity Lawyers. His professional memberships include the Queensland Law Society, Migration Agents Registration Authority, and the Migration Institute of Australia. Oliver's interests outside the office include scuba diving, basketball, ice hockey, playing poker, and delving into history, with a particular passion for ancient and colonial eras.
