Michael Greene

Michael Greene is deputy managing partner at Norton Rose Fulbright in Australia and leads the firm’s national government practice. Based in Sydney, Michael brings extensive litigation experience, representing both public and private sector clients across government, financial services, and corporate sectors. His expertise encompasses a broad range of disputes, including those related to contracts, tendering and procurement processes, fraud, intellectual property matters, corporate governance, directors’ and shareholders’ duties, administrative law, statutory obligations, road transport regulation, enforcement issues, and matters involving privilege and confidentiality. Michael has significant experience advising and appearing for government clients in statutory inquiries, having been involved in several major corruption inquiries, judicial inquiries, special commissions of inquiry, royal commissions, and numerous coronial inquests. His work in this area has earned him recognition as a "Leader in the Field" of Government by Chambers Asia-Pacific. Beyond his legal practice, Michael actively contributes to community organisations. He serves as a CEO Ambassador for the Workplace Gender Equality Agency’s national pay equity campaign, is a non-executive director of Streetwork, a Sydney-based charity supporting vulnerable young people, and is a board member of CareerSeekers, an organisation that provides vocational opportunities for refugees and asylum seekers.
