James Nelson

James Nelson is the Principal at JB Solicitors and the head of its Property Law division. Since being admitted to practice in 2013 after completing his Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of South Australia, James has demonstrated considerable expertise in property transactions. His practice extends across several Australian states, dealing extensively in both residential purchases and sales, including high-value properties exceeding $5 million. In addition to his property law expertise, James has substantial experience in Family Law and deceased estates. He has managed cases involving complex children's issues, intricate property settlements, and significant asset pools, frequently appearing before both the Family Law Court and the Federal Circuit Court. Earlier in his career, James had considerable exposure to criminal law, handling cases from minor traffic infringements to grave offences like serious violence, robbery, and expansive drug trafficking operations. Notably, he acted as the instructing solicitor for a criminal case that advanced to the High Court of Australia. James is committed to the advancement of the legal profession and has previously contributed to the Law Society of South Australia as a Council member and as part of its Country Committee.
