John Meehan

John Meehan is the Principal of JPM Legal and an accredited specialist in Advocacy and Children's Law, with a distinguished career in legal practice since 1977. His expertise spans across Criminal Law, Family Law, and Care and Protection, and he is acknowledged as a leader in these fields through his specialised accreditation by the Law Society of NSW. John's prominence in Children's Law is further highlighted by his appointments to significant roles, including as a member of the NSW Children’s Court Advisory Committee by the NSW Attorney General. His contributions extend to serving as the chairperson of the Juvenile Justice Committee of the Law Society of NSW and as a member of the Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee for Children’s Law. In addition to his legal practice, John brings a wealth of experience to judiciary proceedings for sporting organisations. As the honorary solicitor for the NSW Country Rugby League Referees Association since 1997, he has honed his skills in drafting constitutions and educating judiciary panels, earning life membership in recognition of his dedicated service. With a law degree from the University of Sydney completed in 1977 and an HSC from St Gregory's College Campbelltown, John has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to legal excellence and advocacy.
