Julia Clarke

Julia is the principal and founder of the practice, bringing extensive experience since she began practising law in 1998. She holds a Law (Honours) degree and a Social Science degree in Welfare Studies from the University of Newcastle, as well as a Diploma of Legal Practice. Julia's practice focuses on family law, criminal law, estate planning, wills and probate. A lifelong Hunter Valley resident, Julia was raised in Tanilba Bay and has lived in Maitland for 16 years with her husband and three sons, Luke, Ben and Daniel, all of whom attend school locally. Julia’s commitment to her clients is reflected in the long-term relationships she maintains, with many clients dating back to the start of her legal career. Before embarking on her legal career, Julia represented Australia at the Pan Pacific Games in New Zealand and the World Championships in Paris as a gymnast and trampolinist. She is a passionate advocate for children and sport, recognising their immense developmental benefits. Two of her sons play rugby union for the Maitland Blacks, and her children have achieved notable success in traditional Shotokan karate, competing internationally and earning high rankings. Julia is actively involved in supporting her local community through sponsorships and partnerships with organisations such as the Julia Clarke Solicitor/Drift Cycles Cycling Team, Twin Rivers Gymnastics, Surf Life Saving, and the East Maitland Bowling Club. She believes strongly in fostering connections with local businesses and community groups, reflecting her dedication to the region she both calls home and serves professionally.
