Carolyn Lam

Carolyn is a Senior Associate at K + K Legal with over 20 years of comprehensive experience in litigation and dispute resolution across civil, criminal and commercial law. She began her career working for more than 15 years as a criminal solicitor and prosecutor at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (SA). Later, she spent over five years with the Civil Litigation Section of the Crown Solicitor’s Office, where she provided strategic legal advice to Government agencies on complex and sensitive matters. Carolyn’s legal expertise encompasses areas such as victims of crime, workers compensation, motor vehicle accidents, public liability claims, and medical negligence. She is known for delivering sound, practical advice and utilising effective negotiation skills to secure favourable outcomes for her clients. Her unique background as both a prosecutor and a Senior Solicitor/Delegate at the Crown, where she assessed numerous victims of crime applications, gives her a distinctive insight into the challenges faced by victims. This dual perspective enables her to navigate the intricacies of compensation assessments and advocate effectively to achieve the best possible results in victims of crime claims. Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Adelaide, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the University of South Australia, and a Bachelor of Music Performance with First Class Honours from the University of Adelaide.
