Andrew Kelly serves as the Director at KF Solicitors, a prominent law firm in the South Burnett region. His legal journey began in the Queensland State Government's Department of Justice, where he initially worked as a Clerk at the Redcliffe Magistrates Court. His career advanced as he moved to the Kingaroy Magistrates Court and was later promoted to a Depositions Clerk. Andrew's role involved extensive travel with a relieving Magistrate across South East Queensland. He later became a Relieving Registrar in Rockhampton before returning to Kingaroy in 1993 to complete his law degree. While studying, Andrew worked with Kevin FJ Woods, a well-established solicitor in Kingaroy. In 1995, Andrew was admitted as a Solicitor and by October 1999, he had launched his own legal practice. He pioneered the Duty Lawyer program in the South Burnett area, providing ongoing legal assistance to those in need. In 2003, upon the departure of local practitioner Gary Down, Andrew expanded his firm by integrating Down’s clientele and staff, renaming it Kelly & Down. The firm evolved to Kelly & Frecklington when Deb Frecklington joined as a partner. With Deb’s political career commencing in 2012, the firm was rebranded as KF Solicitors, now the largest in the South Burnett. Andrew's broad legal expertise spans family law, criminal and traffic law, conveyancing and leasing, wills and estates, personal injury, and commercial law, enabling him to manage specialised teams within the firm effectively. The loyalty and trust from repeat clients underscore the firm's reputation. With over three decades in the legal field, Andrew has nurtured an exceptional team of junior and mid-level lawyers, adapting to a growing clientele by establishing offices in both Kingaroy and Brisbane. His proactive leadership involves regularly collaborating with his teams to address complex cases. Andrew is committed to fostering new legal talent by offering work experience to local students interested in pursuing a legal career. Outside of his professional life, Andrew enjoys playing golf and rugby league with the Kingaroy Red Ants Old Boys and actively supports local businesses in the South Burnett area.
