Erin Hoile

Erin Hoile, a Partner at Kingston Fox Lawyers, brings a wealth of experience in criminal law to her practice. Her career is marked by her involvement in some of the largest prosecutions in New South Wales, reflecting her deep expertise. Before joining Kingston Fox Lawyers in 2017, Erin served as a Senior Federal Prosecutor at the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. During this tenure, she managed a diverse array of Commonwealth prosecutions, including high-profile cases involving drug and cigarette importation, tobacco cultivation, computer hacking, intellectual property offences, serious money laundering, and various fraud offences such as Centrelink and tax fraud. Erin has particular proficiency in handling complex indictable matters, often navigating multi-accused prosecutions with notable skill. Her prior role as a prosecutor endows her with a unique perspective, enabling her to understand both sides of a legal matter, which greatly enhances her ability to provide strategic advice to her clients. As a seasoned advocate, Erin frequently appears in various courts, including summary and committal hearings in the Local Court, District Court sentences, conviction appeals, and bail applications extending up to the Supreme Court. She has collaborated with some of the most esteemed criminal barristers in NSW, handling intricate trials in the District Court and appeals before the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal and the High Court of Australia. Erin's academic achievements include a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern History from Macquarie University, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law Australia, and a Master of Laws with a focus on criminal and health law from the University of Sydney. Her peers have recognised her as a leading figure in criminal law, with accolades spanning from 2018 through 2022 and projected into 2025.
