Simone Quinn brings over 25 years of legal experience to her role as a Lawyer, having engaged extensively in both private and government practice. Her comprehensive expertise encompasses commercial law, retail supply agreements, leasing, wills and probate, estate disputes, professional disciplinary matters, and family law. Simone is particularly passionate about criminal defence and has provided representation for numerous clients throughout New South Wales, appearing in the Local Court, Children's Court, District Court, Supreme Court, and the Court of Criminal Appeal. Her dedication to criminal defence is evidenced by her presence on the NSW Legal Aid panel for summary criminal matters, achieving strong outcomes in cases involving drink driving, assault, traffic, and drug offences. A notable highlight in Simone's career is her involvement in the R v Domio trial in 2018, marking the first charge under the 'one punch' legislation in NSW, where the defendant was found not guilty. In 2019, she successfully defended a client in R v Polley, resulting in an acquittal on multiple charges of perverting the course of justice and hindering a police investigation. Simone currently serves as Director and Principal Lawyer at KQ Lawyers, based in Sydney and Bowral, where she has been guiding the firm since 2020. Her extensive legal background includes two decades as a Senior Lawyer at the same firm, handling Local Court matters, District Court trials, and sentences, as well as criminal appellate matters in the Court of Criminal Appeal. Her practice also embraces commercial law, family provision claims, and family law. Before joining KQ Lawyers, Simone practised at Chamberlains Law Firm, where she advised on commercial, property, and outsourced government work, including drafting anti-harassment policies and various contracts. She also contributed as a Lecturer at the Housing Industry Association, instructing in Torts and Contracts within the Building Management Course. Her career began at the NSW Department of Lands, where she advanced from Legal Clerk to Senior Legal Officer. Simone was admitted as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of NSW in 1997, marking the beginning of a diverse and impactful legal career.
