About Kris Ahn is the Founder and Principal Lawyer of Kris Ahn Lawyers and an Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law. With extensive experience in all areas of Australian immigration law, he specialises in complex cases involving unlawful non-citizens, visa refusals, and cancellations. Fluent in English and Korean, Kris is dedicated to clear communication and transparency, ensuring his clients fully understand their legal options. Coming from a migrant background, he has personally experienced the challenges of the merits review process (formerly MRT, now ART) and Ministerial Intervention. This personal journey fuels his strategic approach, allowing him to develop strong, persuasive cases tailored to each client’s unique circumstances. Recognised for his problem-solving skills and ability to find alternative solutions, Kris is committed to delivering high-quality legal representation. His passion for mentorship and innovation continues to shape the field of immigration law, ensuring clients receive expert guidance at every stage of their journey. Journey Kris’s career in immigration law started even before completing his law degree, when he took on his first legal role at a migration agency in Sydney. With a double degree in Law and Business (Finance), he was admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales in 2011 and has since worked across multiple jurisdictions, including Western Australia and Queensland. Quickly gaining recognition, Kris led a team of migration agents and solicitors, successfully establishing and managing a Sydney office for his previous firm as Director. In 2016, he became an Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law, making history as the youngest specialist in Australia and the first of Korean descent to achieve this distinction. In pursuit of excellence and client-focused service, Kris founded Crux Migration in 2017, which later merged with another firm in 2019. In 2022, he established Kris Ahn Lawyers, reinforcing his commitment to professionalism, transparency, and delivering outstanding legal outcomes.
