Jason Launchbury

Jason Launchbury is the founding principal of Launchbury Law, a Brisbane-based legal practice. Admitted to the Supreme Court and High Court of Australia since 2012, Jason brings over 12 years of experience providing sound commercial law and litigation advice. He is recognised for delivering practical, commercially focused solutions, with a particular ability to manage complex legal matters. Jason works closely with his clients to develop strong working relationships and ensure advice is clear, actionable and aligned with their business objectives. His diverse experience includes instructing Counsel in significant appeals within the Federal Court of Australia and the Queensland Court of Appeal, particularly in matters involving sequestration and defamation. He regularly represents clients in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings and advises on the acquisition and sale of businesses, including contract negotiation, shareholder agreements, and confidentiality arrangements. Jason also acts for both retail and commercial landlords and tenants on lease negotiations and dispute resolution. His practice extends to construction and property sectors where he represents owners, builders and subcontractors in security of payment claims, debt recovery, breach of contract, negligence and related regulatory matters. Jason assists with family disputes involving property and financial issues, as well as shareholder and partnership disputes in small businesses. In addition, he provides advice on wills, powers of attorney, and estate administration, handling related litigation for executors, beneficiaries and family members. His property law experience covers residential and commercial transactions, including those involving Self-Managed Superannuation Funds, along with property disputes such as boundary issues.
