Richard Braddock

Richard Braddock is a founding Partner of Lexbridge Lawyers, bringing extensive expertise in international trade and investment law. He offers comprehensive advice, training, and consultancy services on a wide array of trade and investment issues. Richard is highly experienced in the negotiation and implementation of significant bilateral and mega-regional agreements, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership. He has provided capacity-building and training programs extensively across the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to founding Lexbridge, Richard served as an international lawyer and treaty negotiator for the Australian Government. His role involved leading legal teams and acting as a legal advisor on pivotal trade negotiations in the region. He played a central role in major agreements, such as the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand FTA and various FTAs between Australia and countries like China, Japan, and Korea. Notably, Richard was a senior member of the team that successfully defended Australia's first investor-state arbitration concerning tobacco plain packaging. Richard's impressive academic background includes a Master of Laws in International Law from the University of Cambridge, a Bachelor of Laws (Hons I) from the University of Sydney, and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales.
