Liam Young

Liam Young is a Principal Solicitor who opened his own firm at the end of 2017 after a decade of experience in premier legal practices, government regulation, and as an in-house counsel. Liam has advised a diverse clientele, including large multinationals, ASX-listed companies, Commonwealth government agencies, and small start-up operations. With expertise in commercial and corporate matters as well as commercial litigation, he is committed to helping his clients grow their businesses, positioning himself as a strategic partner rather than a hindrance. Some of Liam's notable recent work includes acting for parties in the financial services and insurance sectors during the Financial Services Royal Commission. He has appeared in the Federal Court concerning alleged financial services law breaches initiated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and has represented clients in regulatory and administrative proceedings. In privacy law, Liam has been instrumental in helping companies implement necessary policies in response to the European GDPR. In the realm of mergers and acquisitions, Liam has acted for an Australian company in an acquisition by a US-listed entity and represented a mining services provider in various acquisition deals. He has also played a key role in commercial transactions, such as advising a media company on equity placement by a Hong Kong-based investor.
