Fraser Murray is a Special Counsel with over 15 years of experience in family law matters, guiding clients through the complexities that can arise following the breakdown of a relationship. His expertise encompasses a broad range of issues including divorce, domestic violence, property settlement and spousal maintenance, financial agreements such as pre-nuptial and relationship agreements, parenting arrangements, private child support agreements, and mediation.
Between 2004 and 2014, Fraser spent a decade working within the Family Court system as a Judges Associate. This role provided him with an in-depth understanding of the family law process, the practical application of legal principles, and the dynamics of litigation in deeply contested cases. This experience informs his current practice, where he emphasises resolving disputes efficiently and with minimal court involvement wherever possible.
Fraser holds qualifications in Collaborative Law, reflecting his commitment to a solutions-oriented approach. He works collaboratively with clients, opposing parties, and other professionals to seek mutually agreeable resolutions without resorting to litigation. As a Nationally Accredited Mediator, Fraser offers impartial facilitation for negotiations in family law matters, helping parties avoid the emotional and financial costs associated with court proceedings.
Should court proceedings become necessary, Fraser brings a pragmatic and seasoned approach to litigation. He is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia, enabling him to represent clients in Family Court matters nationwide.
Fraser is an active member of several professional associations including the Queensland Law Society, Family Law Practitioners Association, Sunshine Coast Law Association, and the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators. He has been recognised as a Leading Family Law Mediator in the Doyles Guide for 2024, 2025, and 2026.
