Peter O’Connor is a seasoned barrister with a robust legal career spanning over 30 years. Holding a Bachelor of Arts from James Cook University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of NSW, Peter has extensive expertise in criminal and administrative law, as well as in coronial inquests. He began his legal journey in Newcastle in 1981 as a solicitor with the organisation that would become the Legal Aid Commission. Later, he moved to Lismore, continuing his dedication to public legal services as a solicitor with the Legal Aid office there. In 1989, Peter was called to the Bar and became a founding member of Lismore Chambers, marking a significant development as the first Barrister’s Chambers in the region. Peter’s profound understanding of the courts and legal practices across the Far North Coast and New England bolsters his ability to provide nuanced legal representation. He is adept at handling matters involving Local Court and District Court sentence appeals, administrative law, and a variety of hearings.
