Anne Connell

Anne Connell brings a substantial depth of expertise to Mackenzie Mitchell Solicitors, joining as a Consultant in January 2020. With a legal career spanning over two decades, Anne was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2002 and has since devoted herself primarily to criminal defence. Her vast experience includes representing clients facing both State and Commonwealth charges across all levels of the court system, including the Magistrates, District, and Supreme Courts, as well as the Court of Appeal and High Court of Australia. Previously, Anne contributed as a member of the Criminal Law Section of the Queensland Law Society and served as a committee member for Queensland Young Lawyers. Adding to her credentials, she is an accredited duty lawyer for both adult and children's matters, and she frequently undertakes work under grants from Legal Aid Queensland. Before her tenure at Mackenzie Mitchell, Anne served as a Senior Associate at Burchill & Horsey Lawyers, where she spent 12 years honing her skills in criminal law. Her earlier roles as a solicitor at Volk Lawyers and Terry Fisher & Company further solidified her commitment to providing robust defence services. Anne is an alumna of Queensland University of Technology, where she earned her Bachelor of Laws degree, equipping her with a firm foundation for her enduring legal career.
