Tracey Wood serves as the Principal at Master Builders Members Legal, a dedicated practice offering members tailored legal and contractual advice to suit their specific business circumstances. With a focus on construction law, the firm assists Master Builders Queensland members with various aspects of construction projects, ranging from selecting the appropriate contract for a specific project to handling contract terms and conditions, extension claims, and payment issues. Her expertise extends to providing general advice on QCAT matters, empowering industry participants to efficiently navigate the building and construction sector.
Before her tenure at Master Builders Members Legal, Tracey led Wood L&M Solutions, a firm she co-founded by merging Wood Legal Solutions and Wood Management Solutions. This venture was designed to deliver comprehensive construction law advice alongside project management support, addressing client needs from start to finish. Her practice focused on construction contracts, the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act, adjudications, and managing Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act compliance, amongst other areas.
Tracey's previous roles include leading Wood Management Solutions, where she offered project management and consulting services, and practising as a solicitor at Barry.Nilsson. Lawyers, focusing on insurance litigation and BCIPA dispute resolution. Tracey's extensive experience in managing disputes, drafting contracts, and managing projects was further honed during her tenure at Sinclair Knight Merz, where she held a multifaceted role involving structural engineering, project management, and contract administration.
Her academic credentials include a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and a Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology, complemented by a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern Queensland. These qualifications underpin Tracey's ability to offer legally sound and practically relevant advice to clients across the construction industry.
