Rebecca Harris

Rebecca Harris is a solicitor at McGowran & Cagney Lawyers, practising in both family law and criminal law from the Rockhampton office. Since joining the firm in 2020, she has developed a reputation for providing clear and practical legal advice to clients across Central Queensland. Rebecca completed her Bachelor of Laws at CQUniversity, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the College of Law, before being admitted to practice in Queensland. She regularly appears in the Magistrate’s Court as well as the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, assisting clients through complex legal proceedings with a steady and compassionate approach. Her family law experience encompasses parenting arrangements, property settlements, divorce, and family violence matters. Rebecca also represents individuals in criminal and traffic law matters, including cases involving driving offences, work licences, and domestic violence proceedings. In recognition of her commitment to maintaining a healthy work–life balance within the legal profession, Rebecca was honoured with the Justice Peter Dutney Memorial Award in 2023. Known for her empathetic manner and practical problem-solving skills, she prioritises building strong relationships with her clients throughout their legal journey.
