Kate Melvin

Kate Melvin is a highly experienced Senior Registered Conveyancer and co-owner of McKay Business Services. Since joining forces with Denise in 2014, Kate has made significant contributions to the firm, particularly in managing business settlements and dealing with both residential and commercial property matters, including commercial leases. Her dedication to professionalism and her approachable demeanour have consistently proven to be invaluable to clients, who benefit from her comprehensive knowledge and commitment to their needs. As a proud member of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers SA Division, Kate remains actively involved in the conveyancing community. Kate's extensive experience includes roles at McKay Business Services, focusing on the intricacies of various property transactions such as family transfers, the transfer of property within deceased estates, and the handling of private contracts. Her expertise extends to preparing Form 1 documents, managing changes to strata lot entitlements, handling caveats, and conducting electronic property transfers. Before her tenure at McKay, Kate honed her skills at SAI Global in Adelaide, where she was responsible for checking and certifying Lands Titles Office documents in accordance with the Real Property Act (SA), managing property settlements, and liaising with clients and fellow conveyancers. Kate's academic background includes an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services with a focus on Conveyancing from TAFE NSW, supplemented by a Certificate IV in Conveyancing. She is also a University of Adelaide alumna, holding a Graduate Certificate in Management and a Bachelor of Arts in English and History. Her education is further enriched by a Diploma in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language from the University of South Australia, showcasing her diverse academic interests and commitment to professional development.
