James Dunn

James Dunn is a Director with extensive experience in workers compensation law, representing injured workers under both Tasmanian and Commonwealth schemes. Admitted to practice in October 2017, James brings a practical perspective to his legal work, drawing on his prior career as a building surveyor. He holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Tasmania, as well as qualifications in Environmental Design and Building Surveying. James’s expertise extends to matters governed by the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (Tas), the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (Cth), and the Seafarers Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1992 (Cth). In addition to workers compensation, he maintains a broad litigation practice that encompasses personal injury claims, building and construction disputes, planning and development law, and various court proceedings. His background in the building industry supports a methodical and insightful approach to legal issues, especially those involving technical or regulatory elements. Outside of his professional commitments, James enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, reading, and following football.
