Jess Hamdorf

Jess Hamdorf is a Director with over seven years of post-admission experience, focusing on environment, planning, and public law. She represents clients in matters before the State Administrative Tribunal and the Supreme Court, including appeals against subdivision and development application refusals, challenges to planning notices, disputes over developer contribution plans, and issues related to public and private nuisance. Jess also acts for clients in planning prosecutions before the Magistrates Court. Her expertise extends to advising on compulsory land acquisition for public works, contamination matters, waste management, and general contractual disputes. Beyond litigation, Jess provides guidance on a variety of commercial matters, such as drafting and negotiating commercial leases and licences, and preparing and amending constitutions for Incorporated Associations. Jess is skilled in interpreting legislation, assessing the impact of proposed statutory amendments, and preparing public submissions concerning upcoming developments. She served as Past President of the National Environmental Law Association and was honoured with the 2021 Mahla Pearlman Australian Young Environmental Lawyer of the Year award.
