Matthew Kinder

Matthew Kinder is a Director at Meillon & Bright Legal, practising family law and estate planning from offices in North Fremantle, Western Australia, and Newport on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia. Matthew’s practice focuses exclusively on family law and estate planning, with particular attention to financial matters and property settlements, financial agreements and support, child support and spouse maintenance, parenting issues, and forward planning. His approach is informed by a strong commitment to providing clear, strategic advice tailored to each client’s circumstances. Before specialising in family law, Matthew gained valuable commercial legal experience working in-house for an ASX-listed company as well as with a boutique commercial and corporate law firm in Perth. There, he advised on a variety of matters including asset and share acquisitions (including takeovers and mergers), corporate and group restructures, corporate governance, and drafting and reviewing commercial documents. This broad commercial background enables Matthew to bring a well-rounded perspective to complex family law matters, particularly where financial and business issues intersect. He collaborates closely with a network of professionals such as commercial lawyers, accountants, financial advisers, and taxation experts to provide clients with comprehensive advice and solutions in family law disputes and planning.
