

Jacob Mildren serves as the Principal Lawyer and Director at Orenstein Lawyers. Since joining the firm in April 2019, he has ascended to a leadership position, demonstrating his commitment and acumen in the legal field. With extensive courtroom experience in the Children’s Court, Magistrates Court, County Court, Supreme Court, and Koori Courts across Victoria, Jacob is well-regarded for his expertise in criminal law. He is an Accredited Specialist in Criminal Law through the Law Institute of Victoria and a member of exclusive Legal Aid panels covering indictable, youth, and summary crime. Additionally, he adeptly handles matters related to child protection and intervention orders. Jacob's dedication to social justice is evident through his tireless efforts to uphold the rights of his clients. His legal journey began upon his admission to practice in 2014, after obtaining a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from La Trobe University, complemented by a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from Leo Cussen Institute. Prior to his tenure at Orenstein Lawyers, Jacob honed his skills at Victoria Legal Aid and the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service. His early career included roles that enhanced his understanding of the intersection between law and community, such as his work with the Department of Human Services and an internship at the Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation.
