Josephine Battiste

Josephine Battiste is a highly accomplished barrister with a diverse and extensive legal background. After being admitted, Josephine began her career as a Judges’ Associate at the District Court of South Australia. Her expertise was further honed through her roles at the Supreme Court of Victoria, where she served as Associate to Chief Justice Warren and Justice Sloss. Prior to joining the Bar, Josephine was an integral part of the Commercial and Civil Litigation Group at Griffins Lawyers, where she navigated complex legal landscapes in areas including class actions, family law, administrative law, workers compensation, personal injury, defamation, and criminal matters. Josephine has been practising as a barrister at Mitchell Chambers since 2016, bringing a wealth of knowledge to her self-employed role. Her legal practice encompasses a wide array of areas, accepting briefs across most legal disciplines and appearing in all major courts and tribunals.
