

Debbie Morton leads Morton Family Lawyers as the Principal, bringing extensive expertise in family law. Since establishing her boutique practice in 2004, Debbie has focused on delivering flexible, client-oriented services, now operating remotely and offering mobile consultations from the NSW Southern Highlands. Admitted as a solicitor in 1995, she gained her Family Law Specialist Accreditation in 2001. Her commitment to professional development is highlighted by her completion of a Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution with Distinction in 2014. Debbie's credentials include being a Nationally Accredited Mediator and a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General's office. Her dedication to the legal community is demonstrated through her previous roles on the NSW Law Society's Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee in Family Law and as an Adjunct Lecturer in the College of Law’s Master of Applied Law program. Additionally, Debbie has contributed as a lecturer in the Family Law component of the College of Law's PLT program. Her career has encompassed significant positions such as a Senior Solicitor in Family Law at Colin Daley Quinn and Meehans, and a member of the Legal Aid Commission of NSW's Panel of Independent Children's Lawyers. In these roles, she has been pivotal in representing children's interests in parenting disputes. Debbie's advocacy skills are well-honed, having conducted numerous hearings both on an interim and final basis. Debbie holds a Master of Laws in International Law from UNSW and a Diploma of Law from LPAB. Her professional journey underscores her commitment to advancing family law practice and providing high-quality legal services tailored to her clients' needs.
