Matthew Thompson

Matthew Thompson is the Managing Director of M.P. Thompson & Associates, bringing extensive experience in Australian Migration Law. He earned his Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice from Flinders University in 2000 and was admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2001. Since 2003, Matthew has been a Registered Migration Agent, maintaining active membership with both the Migration Institute of Australia and the Law Society of South Australia. Early in his career, he practised across multiple legal areas and regularly acted as both Solicitor and Barrister for clients in various jurisdictions, gaining broad legal experience. Matthew's strong commitment to Australian Migration Law led him to establish M.P. Thompson & Associates in 2006, focusing the firm’s services primarily on migration matters. Over the years, he has assisted hundreds of clients from Australia and overseas with securing temporary and permanent visas, as well as grants of Australian Citizenship. His work includes representing clients successfully in appeal hearings before Courts and Tribunals nationwide, and making direct applications to the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection in complex cases where other avenues have been exhausted. His client base is diverse, ranging from individuals seeking short-term tourist visas to multinational corporations arranging long-term employment visas for international staff. Outside his professional role, Matthew is a dedicated husband and father and an enthusiastic supporter of the Adelaide Crows.
