Georgina Reid is a Partner at MPS Law with nearly three decades of experience in native title and Indigenous land matters throughout Australia. Renowned for her respectful and outcome-driven approach, Georgina is a trusted advisor to traditional owners, governments, and colleagues, adeptly navigating complex native title issues to secure enduring agreements. Her career highlights include leading the resolution of over 15 native title claims by consent determination and successfully negotiating compensation settlements in South Australia. Notably, she represented native title holders, including the Mitakoodi and Mayi People in Central Queensland and traditional owners across the Torres Strait, achieving significant recognition of native title. As a former Executive Solicitor for Native Title at the South Australian Attorney-General’s Department, Georgina spearheaded the government's negotiations to settle native title and compensation claims, resulting in some of South Australia's most comprehensive agreements. Her expertise extends to negotiating co-management agreements for national parks and Indigenous Land Use Agreements, always prioritising durable partnerships. Recognised by her peers, she was a finalist for the 2025 Native Title Partner of the Year Awards and acknowledged among Australia's Leading Native Title Lawyers in 2024 and 2025. Her contributions were further celebrated with the Justice Award from the Law Society of South Australia in 2025 and listing in the Chambers and Partners Guide in 2026. Georgina's legal career began with Johnston Withers & Associates, progressing through roles including Principal Legal Officer at the Torres Strait Regional Authority. Her educational foundation is a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Adelaide, complemented by a Certificate in Leadership and training in mediation and negotiation.
