Nicholas Panos

Nicholas Panos is the principal of N. Panos & Associates, a boutique law firm he established over 18 years ago, bringing more than 27 years of legal experience to his practice. His expertise encompasses taxation law, tax litigation, audits and disputes, superannuation with a particular focus on self-managed superannuation funds, company and business law, trust structures, estate planning, business succession and asset protection planning, as well as general commercial matters. Prior to founding his firm, Nicholas was an associate partner at a medium-sized law firm where he founded the tax law practice. He also gained valuable experience as a tax consultant with one of the Big Four accounting firms. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), and a Master of Laws, all from the University of Sydney. He is among a select group of solicitors accredited by the Law Society of New South Wales following a stringent assessment process in Business and Personal Taxation Law. He contributes to the profession as a member of the Law Society’s Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee in this area. His client base includes small to medium enterprises, high net worth individuals, professional sportspeople, as well as accountants, lawyers, financial planners and mortgage brokers. Nicholas maintains a strong referral network within these professional groups. As a Chartered Tax Advisor of The Tax Institute and a member of the Law Society of NSW, Nicholas has held numerous leadership roles. He is the long-serving chairman of the Parramatta Tax Discussion Group and The Tax Institute Monthly Tax Club. He has served on the Tax Liaison Committee for the Parramatta branch of the Australian Taxation Office, as well as the Large Business Income Discussion Group. Nicholas has been involved with The Tax Institute as a former State Councillor and currently serves on its professional development committee. He has played an active role in organising, presenting and chairing many seminars and frequently delivers papers at professional and industry events. Additionally, he is an accomplished author of several papers on taxation matters.
