About Elaine
Elaine Clarke is a Director at Newnhams, bringing extensive experience in family law combined with a strong background in commercial law. She graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Politics, where she was awarded the University Prize for excellence in Family Law. Before joining Newnhams in 2014, Elaine spent six years working in a commercial law firm, both before and after completing her degree. During this time, she gained valuable experience across a range of matters, with a particular emphasis on insolvency and bankruptcy. This commercial insight is especially beneficial in family law cases involving complex corporate and trust issues. Elaine’s family law practice encompasses a broad spectrum of matters, including property and financial settlements, spousal maintenance, child support, and parenting proceedings. She has significant expertise in handling complex cases involving intricate corporate and trust arrangements, multiple parties, international elements, and related proceedings across various jurisdictions including Federal, Supreme, and Criminal Courts. Elaine also regularly deals with sensitive issues such as relocation of children and allegations of family violence. Committed to collaborative practice, Elaine is a trained Collaborative Lawyer and actively participates in professional associations such as the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Her dedication and skill were acknowledged in 2020 when she was recognised as a ‘Rising Star’ in Doyle’s Guide, reflecting the respect she commands within the legal community.
