

Laura Nightingale serves as the Director and Principal Lawyer at Nightingale Law, bringing over two decades of experience in the criminal justice system. Admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and with a background as a Detective Senior Sergeant in the NSW Police Force, Laura established Nightingale Law to passionately advocate for her clients and effect meaningful change. Throughout her career, Laura has demonstrated a staunch commitment to justice, leveraging her extensive experience in investigating serious criminal offences such as murder and assault. Her deep understanding of police processes enhances her ability to effectively scrutinise evidence and police charges, providing a robust defence for her clients. Laura is particularly dedicated to supporting victims of domestic violence. Having served on the National Domestic Violence Panel as a Legal Consultant, she is driven to protect the most vulnerable. Her direct experience as a frontline officer gives her a unique perspective on the societal impacts of domestic violence, enabling her to offer compassionate and informed legal support. Her practice extends to family law, where she adeptly handles parenting matters, property settlements, and divorce proceedings. Known for her collaborative and trauma-informed approach, Laura strives to resolve matters outside of court, saving clients from prolonged litigation and unnecessary costs. Laura's extensive courtroom experience includes appearances in the Magistrates, Children’s, District, and Supreme Courts, as well as the Federal Circuit and Family Courts of Australia. Her dedication to delivering high-quality legal representation ensures that clients receive thoughtful guidance, whether navigating complex legal challenges or seeking straightforward legal advice.
