

Jane McCarthy is the Managing Director of Noosa & Hinterland Family Lawyers, where she brings over a decade of experience in family law, specialising in parenting and property matters. As a Family Lawyer and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, Jane focuses on providing a sensible and realistic approach to parenting issues, assisting clients with both legal and dispute resolution needs. Her dual expertise allows her to settle matters effectively and efficiently, emphasising cost-effectiveness for clients. Jane also assists with wills, ensuring comprehensive support during separations. Since becoming a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner in 2017, Jane's negotiation skills have significantly enhanced her legal practice. Having lived in Noosa since 1987, she enjoys a deep connection to the community, currently residing in Doonan with her family. Jane is a dedicated mother and stepmother to seven adult children and a proud grandmother to three, soon to be four, grandchildren. Her commitment to the community is evident through her volunteering efforts with SunnyKids and her involvement with Noosa Zonta, where she participates in community events such as the Noosa Salvation Army Christmas. Jane holds both a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New England and a Master of Laws (Applied Law) with a double major in Family Law and Family Dispute Resolution Practice. Additional qualifications from the Australian National University and the College of Law complement her extensive expertise. Jane's professional memberships include the Sunshine Coast Law Association, Queensland Law Society, and the Queensland Association of Collaborative Practitioners. She is also a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and has served as a panel Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner for Legal Aid Queensland. Her practice is based in both the Noosaville and Cooroy offices, committed to resolving client matters in a child-focused and positive manner.
