John Harris

John Harris is the founding director of O’Connor Harris and Co Solicitors, bringing over four decades of legal expertise to the firm. Having graduated from the Australian National University in 1976, he has dedicated his career to practising law in Canberra. Throughout his extensive career, John has developed a robust practice encompassing Commercial Law, Property Law, Family Law, and Building and Construction Law. His passion for the law is matched by the diverse challenges and opportunities his work at O’Connor Harris presents. Outside of his professional pursuits, John engages in a wide array of hobbies, from rowing and skiing to fishing and cooking. He is a proud father of six and a devoted grandfather to thirteen grandchildren. John's enthusiasm extends to motoring, particularly British sports cars, reflecting his membership in the Triumph Motor Club. He is also actively involved with the ACT Rowing Association and the Master Builders Association. John finds pleasure in spending weekends in the mountains, where he tends to his gardens and enjoys woodworking. His approach to law is deeply personal, focusing on addressing and resolving clients' individual challenges, which he finds both rewarding and fulfilling.
