Andrea Rodrigues

Andrea Rodrigues is an experienced senior lawyer whose career encompasses both community legal services and private practice. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and Arts, with minors in Sociology and a major in Psychology, along with a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. Andrea has a strong commitment to social justice, reflected in her early work with the Western Sydney Community Legal Centre and the Aboriginal Legal Service. She possesses substantial experience across Family Law, Criminal Law, and Civil Law, having assisted a wide range of clients facing diverse legal challenges for over a decade. Currently, Andrea primarily practises Family Law, managing complex parenting disputes, property settlements, interim and final defended hearings, contested divorces, spousal maintenance claims, and jurisdictional matters including international forum disputes. She is skilled in negotiating and finalising consent orders, binding financial agreements, and binding child support agreements. In Criminal Law, Andrea regularly appears in bail applications, hearings to vary apprehended domestic violence orders or bail conditions, and is passionate about sentencing proceedings and section 14 applications. Her expertise also extends to Wills and Estates, where she handles probate distributions, preparation of enduring powers of attorney, enduring guardianships, and drafting of Wills. Andrea is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia and is a member of the Law Society of NSW. She appears across multiple jurisdictions, including various courts in NSW and interstate, such as the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Brisbane Magistrate’s Court, Federal Court of Australia, South Australia Employment Tribunal, NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, and both divisions of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
