

David Maddocks is a distinguished Partner with a robust background in litigation, particularly in medical defence and school law. Graduating with Honours in Law from Monash University in 1996, David was honoured with the Supreme Exhibition Court Prize for his exceptional thesis on Serious Injury Claims in Victoria. He joined a top-tier national law firm in 1997, becoming a partner in 2004, and has since dedicated his practice to defending medical practitioners, the State of Victoria, and various private schools. David is recognised as an Accredited Personal Injury Specialist by the Law Institute of Victoria. His contributions have included serving as a Tribunal Member on the Intellectual Disability Review Tribunal. His litigation experience is extensive, handling claims against notable entities such as the Department of Education and Parks Victoria. He is also a committed member of the LIV’s Examination Committee for personal injury accreditation and offers pro-bono legal services to schools supporting under-privileged minority students. As Chief Neuropsychologist at the Transport Accident Commission Rehabilitation Centre, he earned a Ph.D. focusing on recovery following concussion in AFL players. David contributed as a co-author of international consensus proceedings on sport-related concussion and was a member of the AFL Concussion Working Group. David's leadership extends beyond law, having served on the Board of Cricket Victoria, including as Chair. He was involved with the Victorian Indigenous Cricket Advisory Committee and led both the Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars in the BBL and WBBL competitions.
